Woohoo.. i went to an advertising agency just now. It was really cool. And even though the trip din leave with me any concrete facts about the industry, it did serve well to inspire and spur me on to strive for my dream career. The creative director who entertained us told us several interesting things about a career in this industry in general. So for any of you out there vying for the same job as me, heres some things you might want to note:
1) You dont need proper qualifications to consider a job
I'm not talking jibberish. Honestly, you dont need a degree in advertising, media or even corporate relations to qualify. Though a decent degree would serve to your advantage. What they want is employees who can think. They want confident, passionate employees who know what they are doing(or at least appear to know)
2) Not all advertising agencies would develop their own productions.
Advertising agencies are the brains, not the hands. But they do have a part to play in some productions.
Oh yah, and VJ won guys soccer!! Woohoo! the title is finally back with us.
In other words, VJ won the championship for both guys and girls soccer!
