Haha, i was preparing word when i came across this parable(matt 13:44) which unfortunately, is seldom mentioned by most preachers. This is interesting, because as i read on, this parable somewhat explains our salvation, all within 2 sentences!
In fact, just by looking at it, i can already think of two points to share based on this one verse which i hope can encourage myself when im feeling discouraged next time :D.

1) Our Salvation comes with unexpressable joy!
This joy is personal, it is subjective and unique to the individual. Like the man who discovered the treasure, that he became so excited, even to the point where he is willing to sell everything just to get it. Though it is not mentioned what treasure it is, im sure it was worth it.
2) Our Salvation comes with a price - it is worth it though.
Theres a price to pay to get this treasure. Thats why Jesus mentioned that whoever wants to be His disciple has got to deny himself and take up the cross daily. I'm sure the man in the parable has substantiable wealth, to be able to sell everything to get the treasure is quite a big deal. Haha, frankly, if i were him, i would have just stole the treasure from the field. But i'm sure thats not how it works. Becos usually, we only treasure the things that mean something, the things that are of value to us. And frankly, if we did'nt pay anything for it, we would never fully appreciate the value of the item to us.

And always remember, Matt6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also. What may bring you joy initially, the initial feel of salvation may be lost. At times, we just lose this joy of salvation, its up to us to value it and make it our treasure.
