Its been ages since i last updated this blog. I just endured 3 weeks of NS, wad a torture lor. Its super sianing, within 3 weeks, i have had 3 different MCs. One for back sprain, one for gastric flu and one for wound infection, so suay lor. Even those trying to chao geng dont dare to take so many MCs. This has many implications. Firstly, it means i missed out on quite alot of route marches. Since Bronco(my coy) has the honour of being a super kiasu coy that dosent allow day2s to join marches, i have missed the 6 and 8 km marches, i'm like the only person who is pro enough to miss so many lor. It sucks, becos i wanna go for route marches, i wanna catch up with everyone else. Furthermore, it means i have to delay my sit test. Argh.
Anyway, my first 3 weeks were quite eventful. Military life is really miles apart from civilian life. Man i miss my life with my pink ic. Having been there only 3 weeks, i've already learnt to appreciate so much the things around me that i've all along taken for granted. The light you have when you on the switch; in NS, they mean it when they say lights out. The time you have everyday; where i come from, time is a precious commodity, we are given at most an hour(1 full hour is quite rare!) of admin time a day to bathe, wash clothes, polish boots, call home, etc. Last but not least, another quality in my life i learnt to appreciate is the ability to make choices; it sucks having everything standardised. You cant choose the food you want to eat, you definitely cant choose the clothes you want to wear. You are hardly able to choose what you want to do. For a few days, it is tolerable, but as time goes by, life starts getting monotonous. The only other place i am reminded of with a lack of choice is prison!
Haha, well, i guess this is one phase everyone has to go through. Yes, i may not be given the ability to choose many things, but i can always choose the attitude i have to face it. :)
